Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
About the Artist:
Kathryn Ertel is the Arts Editor and a contributing writer for Houston-Galveston.com. The native Houstonian is a graduate of the University of Houston’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. The author and emerging artist also enjoys working as a Substitute Teacher in public education with at-risk youth and hopes to teach full-time for Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. As a full-time mom, this single parent finds the time to write and paint by encouraging her little ones to join in on the fun. On a typical day, you can find Kathryn and her preschoolers hiking around Houston’s nature trails, hunting for little-known eateries or painting in her open garage. The author and artist takes her inspiration from the early Humanists and never passes up an opportunity to learn. Some of Kathryn’s work will be featured in the upcoming Houston Art for Charity Event at the Caroline Collective on March 2, 2013. Her work is also viewable online at www.facebook.com/KKErtelArtistry.
