Paintings by Robert Johnson

About the Artist:

Robert W. Johnson is a survivor of traumatic brain injury.  Years ago, after a life-altering event, he became inspired to paint.  Robert’s acrylics evoke primal forces at work in his mind.  His pieces are manifestations of the struggle to remember his life before the accident.  Johnson is an emerging artist in the truest sense of the words, and has created his own vocabulary of abstractions based on his personal history.

Robert is that rare individual who, not only is aware of what he lost and how it has changed him, but also can transform this awareness into powerful creative expression, and his artistic process is integral to his recovery process.

Johnson is a Connecticut-based artist.  He is a member of the Valley Arts Council and has exhibited throughout the state. Recently, he was a featured artist in Mental Shoes magazine issue 022.
